The last page with the kinetic type inspiration seems like it could really work.
However colour scheme you chose of red white and black might not be subtle enough for the genre. I think of them as action colours not Rom Com colours. Maybe adding just one other colour like light blue would make it work though.
Also there are some nice examples of photography in the Sex & The City pics. I know your pretty nifty with the camera, so would that be a route to take?
